The message of a culture lost and absorbed has so many parallels with similar circumstances here in Aotearoa with the native Maori and our neighbour Australia and their Aborigines. You can take this even further and see the same thing with the barbarian crusaders who sacked the Ottoman empire and destroyed so much old knowledge of science and medicine from the Persians, Saracens and Mamluks. <br /><br />So much culture destroyed by greed and ignorance.
